NSIP beneficiaries hail FG for 7 years of ‘fighting’ poverty in Bauchi
AREWA AGENDA – Bauchi State beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme have commended the President, Muhammadu Buhari for fighting poverty through the scheme, which they said has contributed to their small-scale businesses.
The Guardian reports that the beneficiaries, led by the state Coordinator of the Independent Monitors of the Programme, Mubarak Ahmed Limanci while addressing journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi said that they have categories of beneficiaries of the programme under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development under Sadiya Umar Farouq.

NSIP has components that include; N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, Home Grown School feeding, Trader Moni, Market Moni and Independent Monitors among others, where youths and women from the six geo-political zones benefitted. The N-Power beneficiaries are being paid N30,000 monthly allowances for the scheme that was launched in December 2016.
Also speaking, the National Coordinator of NSIP, Dr. Umar Buba Bindir thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment and support toward ensuring the success of the programme while calling on beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity and improve their well-being.
Bindir noted that thousands of the NSIP beneficiaries seized the opportunity of Buhari’s visit to converge to express their appreciation to the President for the benefits derivable from the programme on Monday when the President led the All Progressives Congress rally in Bauchi.
