Northern Lawyers Appeal To Tinubu To Retain Kayode Egbetokun As Police IG

Northern lawyers under the aegis of Arewa Progressive Lawyers has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to extend the tenure of Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector General of Police.

The appeal was made on Friday during a press conference held in Kano State.

The press statement signed by the group’s President, Barrister Mustapha Imam, affirmed the lawyers’ loyalty and believe to Nigeria, adding that they shall continue to support any step of the president towards the unity, progress and good governance.

The group also lauded the president’s adherence to the rule of law and due process.

Good moming gentlemen

I Barrister Mustapha Imam on behalf of Arewa Progressive Lawyers hereby make this press conference for the purpose of information/and appeal to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR on the position of the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.

Mr. President sir, we want to affirm to you our loyalty and believe to the Federal Republic of Nigeria under your leadership and that we shall continue to support any step by your administration toward the unity, progress and good governance

Mr. President Sir, you have always preach for the adherence to the rule of law and due process of the law. On this sir, we have seen your commitment for your noninterference with the judicial process.

We thank you for this commitment

success recorded in the Nigeria Police Force under the current IG Kayode Egbetoku. Sir, since his assumption of office he has tried to la down a solid foundation for the good vibrant and modern police force Nigeria. He is a proactive IGP who tackle any issue before him. Looki at the success so far recorded under his leadership particularly his sty of leadership, we are calling on the federal government under yo leadership to continued with the support given to him to sustain tempo already created by him toward seeing good and strong Nige police force.

On the General note Sir, at this critical moment, we advice and appea you Mr. President Sir, to extend the tenure of this great personalit his excellence performance so far as the IGP.

You can only consolidate the already tempo created by the IGP tenure is extended, this man deserved to be given enough time t up, a good, solid and modern Nigeria Police Force.

We have seen his role and his believed in modern policing in te rule of law and due process. Mr President we urge you as a ma importance to graciously extend the tenue of the current IGP Mr. Egbetokun for the great success recorded so far.

We thank you most sincerely and we shall continued to give support toward the good governance in the Federal Republic of Mr. President Sir, we shall not end this press conference extending our goodwill message to the Vice President of the Republic of Nigeria Sir, Kashim Shettima who is always active in seeing the success of this administration.
