Northern coalition tips Yahaya Bello as Buhari’s successor
AREWA AGENDA – The Coalition of Northern Nigeria Ethic Youth Leaders (CONNEYL) has tipped Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as the successor to President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.
The coalition said Bello has proven through prudent administration of Kogi state that he has all it takes to step into the big shoes of President Buhari in 2023.
Addressing journalists after a stakeholders’ meeting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state capital on Sunday night, the convener of CONNEYL, Yusuf Yahuza, said the coalition arrived at the decision following painstaking appraisal of the President Buhari’s legacies and the need for sustainability, saying Bello stands tall among equals.
According to the coalition, a choice of a patriotic leader like Alhaji Yahaya Bello will go a long way in ensuring a sustainable growth and development of the country.
It also noted that going by Governor Bello’s antecedents in Kogi, he is one individual that will salvage Nigeria from religious bigotry and tribal sentiments, which have undermined the nation’s development since independence.
“His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has recorded landmark achievements in the areas of transparency and competence in the Confluence State especially his approach to security issues which is our biggest national challenge.
