Chaos
The New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP) has raised alarm that there is an alleged plan by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to create tension in Kano after the Appeal Court Judgment later today.
In a statement issued in Abuja late yesterday, the NNPP National Chairman, Hon. Abba Kawu Ali said Ganduje and his cohorts are allegedly planning to orchestrate violence in Kano.
“We are in receipt of a reliable information, that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the APC Chairman, Kano State Chapter, Abdullahi Abbas have directed for Mobilisation of hired thugs to be deployed in strategic locations within the metropolis with a sole aim of causing mayhem in Kano if the Appeal Court outcome did not favour them”

The NNPP National Chairman recalled similar incidences during the 2023 general elections when thugs were mobilised to unleash violence in various places within the State including the NNPP Secretariat in Tudunwada local government where over 10 members of the party were burnt alive.
The party therefore called on all security agencies, to as a matter of urgency curtail the evil plan and ensure safety of lives and properties of people in the state.
“It is disheartening, that the APC National and State Chairmen are all out to create crisis in an environment they are supposed to protect at all cost.
“We wish to call on all NNPP supporters and the good people of Kano State to remain calm and be law abiding before and after the Appeal Court ruling as we are very optimistic of justice and fairness.
“The NNPP as party of peace, believes there cannot be development in an atmosphere of chaos and violence and therefore reiterates its call on the teaming supporters and good people of Kano State to ensure peaceful atmosphere and report any suspicious moves to security agencies”, he submitted.
