Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Draged To Court Over Human Rights Violations

AREWA AGENDA – The Nasarawa State deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe has been dragged to the Federal High Court Lafia over the unlawful detention of Yusuf Isiaka and Rilwanu Idris from 28th day of December,2022 to 3rd day of January 2023 at the criminal investigation department (CID),Makurdi Road, Lafia Nasarawa State.

The suit at the Federal High Court Lafia was filed on 4th January 2023 with suit number FHC/LF/FHR/1/2023 between Yusuf Isiaka and Rilwanu Idris Vs Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe & 2 ors.

The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe is to pay one hundred million naira (#100,000,000.00) in compensation to the applicants at the success of the suit.

The originating summons was filed by Mohammed Danjuma Esq on behalf of the applicants as the Head Northern Nigeria Human Right Advocates (NONIHRA) in Nasarawa State.

The duo were detained on allegation of tearing the posters or defacing posters of the deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Dr Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe in Doma Doma LGA of Nasarawa State.
