NAHCON Allocates Hajj Seats To States
AREWA AGENDA – The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON), has announced the 2023 Hajj allocation to the thirty-six State Pilgrims welfare boards, agencies, and Commissions, including the Federal Capital Territory and the Armed Forces.
The distributions were made public at the end of an executive meeting that ratified the allocation.
A press statement signed by the Commission’s Assistant Director of Information and Publications, Alhaji Mousa Ubandawaki, disclosed that the seats allocated were as follows:
Nigerian Armed Forces – 548
Abia State – 53
Adamawa State – 2,669
Anambra State – 39
Bauchi State – 3,132
Bayelsa State – 35
Benue State – 236
Borno State – 2,735
Cross Rivers State – 66
Delta State – 74
Nasarawa State – 1,567

Ogun State – 1,139

The statement also revealed that the Kogi State allocation will be released after the conclusion of the ongoing review of its activities while the allocation of Akwa Ibom state was suspended due to the non-renewal of its operating license.
According to the statement, all States are expected to remit payment of 50% of the 2022 seat allocation to the Commission before the 10th of February 2023.
It also warned that the inability to comply with the deadline date will lead to a reduction in Hajj slots allocation of such state.
