Maryam Abacha Varsity Donates 60 Seater Luxurious Bus to BUK
AREWA AGENDA – Maryam Abacha American University in collaboration with AAG-Foundation has donated a 60 Seater Luxurious Bus to the Bayero University, Kano, BUK, as part of its Education Sub-Sector Support Initiative in the West African Sub-Region, ECOWAS/CEDEO.
The vehicle was presented to the BUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sagir Adamu-Abbas, on Tuesday by the MAAUN delegation led by its Director Liason and International Collaboration, Dr. Bala Muhammad.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Muhammad said the gesture was in line with the MAAUN and AAG vision of creating sustainable and smooth access to education for all.

He added that the donation was also aimed at ensuring a hitch-free transport system to aid effective learning and check congestion, as well as preventing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigerian universities.
“The aim of the donation is to contribute to the University efforts in providing hitch-free transport systems for effective learning and helps in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic by reducing congestion,” Mr. Muhammad added.
Responding, the BUK Vice-Chancellor of BUK commended Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for the gesture as well as his continued support to the university.
The V-C, therefore, assured that the University would make the best use of the vehicle, saying that it would go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of students in the area of transportation.
