MAAUN’s Global Gathering: 6000 Attendees from 42 Nations Convene for International Workshop

On April 4th, 2024, the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) hosted a comprehensive One-day Online International Workshop focusing on the intricacies of Article Publication in Reputable Journals. The event attracted an impressive turnout of over 6,000 participants spanning 42 countries worldwide, including prominent nations such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, China, India, and many more.
The workshop aimed to equip attendees with the essential knowledge and skills required to successfully publish their research in high-impact academic journals across the globe.
Renowned international scholars delivered insightful presentations on contemporary topics related to academic writing and publishing, including discussions on predatory journals and ethical considerations in research publication.

Dr. Muthmainnah S., who is a distinguished lecturer from Al Asyariah Mandar University, Indonesia, provided valuable insights into the meticulous process of crafting outstanding research papers. She emphasized the importance of selecting a robust research question, adopting rigorous methodologies, and navigating the submission process effectively. Furthermore, Dr. Muthmainnah highlighted the ethical challenges in publishing, such as plagiarism, and offered practical strategies for prevention.
Additionally, Dr. Ahmed J. Obaid, a faculty member at the University of Kufa, Iraq, shed light on the significance of promoting published research articles to enhance their visibility in the online sphere. Dr. Obaid emphasized the prevalence of predatory journals and shared expert advice on distinguishing reputable journals from deceptive ones.
Professor Mohammad Israr, President of MAAUN, underscored the pivotal role of research publication in advancing academic disciplines and researchers’ careers. He emphasized that beyond facilitating communication, research publication enhances performance and productivity within academia.
In closing remarks, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Administration of MAAUN, reiterated the importance of embracing digital research methods.
