No Lesbianism in Our Schools – Kano Govt
Kano state government hass threatened to sue a Kannywood actress, Mansura Isah over her “false and malicious claims” on the prevalence of lesbianism among young girls in a particular public school in the state.
The state government did not disclose the identity of the school alleged to be infiltrated by the lesbian activities.
Mansura Isah allegedly made the claim about two weeks ago in a viral video on social media.
In the video shared on her social media platforms, the actress claimed that homosexuality was prevalent among the young girls within the school premises.
Responding to the claim on Monday, the State Commissioner for Education, Umar Haruna Doguwa said the state government had set up a committee to investigate the matter and found nothing of such.
The committee members were drawn from the state Hisbah board, the state ministry of education and the school authority.
Doguwa added that the committee in collaboration with some medical doctors conducted a thorough medical examination on the accused students.

According to the commissioner, the tests conducted by some experienced gynecologists at the Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital in Kano falsified the actress’ claims.
“Though the state government welcomes open complains capable of improving good governance in the state, the general public should be warned against making false and baseless claims that could truncate the state government’s efforts of providing quality education for all.” He said.
Doguwa however, asked Isah to withdraw her claim and tender an unreserved apology to the state government as well as the entire people of Kano over the malicious claims in the viral video.
In her part, the Deputy Commandant of the State Hisbah Board in charge of women, Khadija Sagir Sulaiman said Mansura Isah had refused to withdraw her statement despite being intimated with the results of the investigation conducted by the committee.
Sulaiman therefore threatened to take a legal action against the Kannywood actress if she failed to heed the state government’s advice to tender the public apology.
Checks by Arewa Agenda indicate that Mansura Isah had taken the controversial video off her social media handles.
Though, she has not tender any apology as at the time of filing this report on Monday evening.
