KNSG Vows to Tackle Gender Based Violence
AREWA AGENDA – Kano State Government have restated its commitment to tackle Gender Based Violence and violence against children.
This was stated by the special adviser to the Governor on Health Services Management Dr Fauziyya Buba Idris on Sunday during the grand rally organised by her Office and various professional women groups.
The rally was themed ” Walk Away Gender Based Violence and Violence against Children.”
A walk and advocacy visit was carried out from emir Palace through office of head of the Civil service to the government house.
Dr Fauziyya Buba said the grand rally is not only important but timely organised in order to provide blueprint that will help in achieving sustainable development.
Adding that, the occasion is a denunciation of any form of violence against women and children in the state and the nation in general.

She concluded that, no doubt, Kano State Government under the administration of his Exellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has demonstrated high level of commitment towards enhancing lives of women and children considering the number of high impact appointments given to women, compulsory education for all and the prosciption of child street begging in the state.
Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by state commissioner of women affairs and social development Dr Zahra’u Muhammad said his Exellency unweving support and all other relevant stakeholders concerned will proffer workable solutions in making these seemingly insurmountable problems things of the past.
The emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero represented by Dan Kadan Kano, Dr Bashir Muhammad said all five Kano emirates in the state hates gender based violence and violence against children.
The Weekend grand rally was graced by the women professionals’ groups, which includes Women Lawyers, women Doctors, women Journalists, NGOs, CSOs, FBOs, Mwan, FIDA, NAWOJ, Disabilities, HILWA, from sphares of life endeavor.
