The Kebbi state Local Government Service Commission has assured that it will revamp the services of the local government staff for effective and efficient service delivery.
The newly appoionted chairman of the Commission Mansur Shehu gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, said the challenges being faced by local governments staff in the 21 local government areas of the state are enomous and need to be address.
According to him, discipline, training and wellfare of the staff would be key priority during the period of his tenure.

He stated that, the commission is saddled with the responsibility of appointments, transfers, discipline and training amongst others of the local government staff saying, these are the problems bedvelling local government service.
“like most other organisations this days, there is no much commitment from local government staff when it comes to issue of work, most times many people are redundant, the jobs are only appointed to few people”.
The Chairman, re-emphasised that, training and retraining of Staff would be the commission’s priority so that the local governments will work as its suppose to be for every staff to know his responsibility.
Shehu assured that, the commission would look into areas that would encourage the workers to give their best such as allowances and salaries.
He warned that, any staff of the local government that is not ready to be dedicated to his work should leave the service as the commission would make sure that the system works where it suppose to be.
