Kebbi State ministry of Women Affairs and Social development
in collaboration with her Excellency NGO Foundation trained 1,247 young Girls and women for various skills Acquisition and distributes materials to all of them.
The graduation ceremony and distribution of skills Acquisition materials to the trainees took place at the premises of the said Ministry and also performed by Her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.
The trainees was trained in the area of tailoring 618 persons, cosmetology 120 persons, catering services 81 persons, Computer 231 persons, shoemaking 231 persons and make-up 41 persons, making the the total of 1,247 persons trained and graduated with materials.
In her remarks, Commissioner Women Affairs, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, expresses her joy over the completion of successful training and graduation ceremony of 1,247 young girls and women along with the distribution of skills acquisition materials by the wife of the state governor, her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris to empowered them to become self employers and be able to cater for themselves.
” I warnned all of you beneficiaries not to sold any of the materials donated to you. You are given this Materials in order to become self-reliance, she explained”. However, it is expected to make judicious use of the materials.
Also, noted that her Excellency, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris donation to you was to marked her One hundred days in office as first lady. I therefore call on you to continue to support her, so that her office and my ministry will do more in the area of empowerment and skills Acquisition programmes to all women across 21 LGAS of the state.
She then applauded the support of her Excellency and governor Nasir Idris to women and the ministry, we thanked you and we prayer for more wisdom to touch many more lives in the state.

While speaking, wife of the state governor, her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, said her passion is to empower women, girls and children whenever she got the opportunity to do so. ” I will do everything humanly possible to ensure more support reach women, young girls, children and less privilege persons through skills Acquisition, school enrollment among other ways. But all this can’t be achieves without your own support, she explained”.
I therefore call on all of you to ensure good usage of what was donated to you and also put the knowledge skills you acquired in to use. She commended ministry of women Affairs, its staff and any other persons that contributed in making the training and graduation ceremony success.
She then thanked her husband for giving her all the support to discharge of her duties as first lady in the state.
” The donation of skills Acquisition materials is part of the achievement recorded in the office of the first lady in one hundred days, she assert”.
In her closing remarks, permanent Secretary of the said ministry, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Maikurata, expressed ministry appreciation to her Excellency Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris for the support and donation of materials to 1,247 graduated skills Acquisition trainees.
She said, this gesture will never be forgotten in her Excellency achievement of her one hundred days in office. Aslo extend their gratitude’s to the governor Nasir Idris and his wife Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris for being passionate about women empowerment programme. Adding that women, young girls and children across the state are proud of your government.
She also emphasis on the beneficiaries to make judicious usage of the materials distributed to them. Equally, to all trainees, parents, friends and staff of the ministry, invited guest, ladies and gentlemen, we appreciate all of you for your time and sacrifices to be here today and to witness graduation ceremony and the distribution of skills Acquisition materials to all the beneficiaries . The ceremony witnessed many important personalities such Commissioners, permanent Secretaries, LGAS Chairmen, NGOs, senior civil servant, politicians among other are in attendance.
