Katsina protesters boo Buhari during 2-day working visit
AREWA AGENDA – President Muhammadu Buhari has begun a two-day official visit to Katsina State to inaugurate some selected projects executed by the state government.
During the visit, some residents of Katsina State, suspected to be political thugs, booed President Muhammadu Buhari shortly after the inauguration of the project at the Kofar Kaura underpass. The suspects started throwing stones at the crowd.
They also burnt tyres along Yahaya Madaki way, few metres away from the newly inaugurated underpass project, while shouting: “We don’t need you”, “We no go do”, “We are not supporting APC”. They were dispersed by security personnel who fired teargas.

Some of the projects commissioned include Kofar-Kaura and kofar-Kwaya underpass, Katsina Revenue House, among others.
He would inspect some ongoing projects within the state capital, Katsina.
Buhari would also commission some schools, hospitals and roads outside the state capital, during the second day of the visit.
The President, according to the itinerary from the Government House, would also inaugurate the new Darma Rice Mills, established by the Katsina-based business mogul, Alhaji Dahiru Barau-Mangal.
NAN reports that security personnel have been stationed around Katsina, especially along the routes the president would follow and the project sites.
The Police had since announced temporary closure of some roads on Thursday from 8 am to 12 noon.
The roads include IBB – Kofar Kaura, Steel Rolling Mills – Liyafa roundabout, Al-qalam University roundabout to Kofar-Kaura.
