Kano: WAMMA honour men behind saving lives of first Abuja-Kaduna train attack

AREWA AGENDA – West African Music and Movie Awards (WAMMA) has awarded Malam Abdullahi Ibrahim and Malam Zayanu Hashim Yusuf at the first edition of WAMMA ICONS AWARDS 2022 Organized by CEMS Nigeria on Friday In Kano State.

The President of WAMMA Afrik Abdulrahman S. Abdulkadir said the aim of organising the event was to celebrate, appreciate and honour excellent achievements in the field of humanity, and community development and to those who devoted towards the welfare of humanity across West Africa.

WAMMA award glimpsed their tremendous support in building the nation on their brave act of saving more than 500 people from the first Abuja-Kaduna train attack last year.

We got to know them through Mr Musa Abdullahi Sufi, this is people our country needs to support by recognizing, and adding more courage to their doings, in which the country will be at the betterment stage, he added.

Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi said the National honour award didn’t recognize them, so I felt this is the time to make them be among other citizens that will be put in place to receive such great milestone achievement in the presence of many dignitaries within and outside the country because they deserved it.

Speaking at the award ceremony Malam Abdullahi and Zayanu said this award will forever be in their midst by giving an example to the upcoming Generations, the saving of lives was a miracle from God with our help as well.

The West African Icon Awards is a flagship fiesta of the West African Music and Movie Awards (WAMMAAfrik) the Award celebrates, appreciate and honours excellent achievement in the field of humanity and of course those who have been Supporting the well-being of mankind.

​The project is in its maiden edition, and it is the brainchild of CEMS Nigeria, predominantly designed to reward exemplary humanitarian efforts and professionals who have used their good offices to impact positively the teaming population.

Also, Musa Abdullahi received the West African Icon Award as the ‘Diversity and Inclusion Icon Award 2022’.

The exceptional innovative award was given to Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation AAG-Foundation, Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation who bagged the humanitarian Icon Award.

Sufi later thanked the organizers and partners of the event for their recognition.

The event hosted many people across Africa and other parts of the world.
