Ensure There There Is Dollar Subsidy For Pilgrims, KPB Tells NAHCON
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has implored the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) to redouble its efforts in securing government-subsidized dollars for participants in the upcoming Hajj Pilgrimage.
Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa, the Director General of the Kano Board, expressed this during a meeting with Arewa New Agenda, held during a sensitization visit to Kano by the National Hajj Commission.
In a statement issued by the board’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Dederi, it was emphasized that the heightened cost of this year’s Hajj and the restricted payment timeframe are significant hindrances leading to delays in deposit payments.

In response, Dr. Muhd Lawan Salisu, the team leader of Arewa New Agenda from the National Hajj Commission, assured the Director General of their commitment to collaborating with relevant authorities, including the Sultan, to appeal to the President for the provision of Hajj subsidies.
Dr Muhd Lawan Salisu pledged to explore all feasible avenues to facilitate a more seamless and accessible pilgrimage experience.
In a remark the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alh Yusif Lawan, reiterated the Board’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare and convenience of all Hajj participants.
He affirmed the Board’s dedication to working in conjunction with the National Hajj Commission to address challenges and enhance the overall pilgrimage process.
The meeting was attended by all management staff of the Board, Local Government Hajj Centre officers, and some of the Hajj Induction Course Teachers.
