Kano House Of Assembly, VON Strengthen Ties
The Kano state House of Assembly in North West Nigeria and Nigeria’s International Medium, Voice of Nigeria, have agreed to collaborate in promoting activities of the house not only to Nigerians but to the outside world.
The agreement was reached when the spokesperson to Kano Speaker Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai visited North West Zonal office on a familiarisation tour.
He commended efforts of Voice of Nigeria towards educating and enlightening people on happenings in the major commercial city and the entire North West zone.
Shawai said, “as we know Voice of Nigeria is an Authoritative Voice that transmit their news to the outside world by promoting and boosting the image of the Country.” This is commendable. Shawai noted
“On behalf of the Right Honourable speaker who gave the node of this delegation to the embark on this visitation tour to stations like yours,is highly recommendable.
The speaker decided to send the delegation under my leadership to salute you, to say thank you to what you’ve been doing all a long.”
He told the staff that, the visit was also to re-strategise on how to foster strategic partnership towards promoting activities of the House.

Shawai identified the critical role of the media in shaping the society expressing the hope of seeing robust engagement with VON at the House.
Also, the Special Adviser to the speaker on special duties to the speaker Dr. Salisu Idris Rogo described the Kano House of Assembly as unique and youth friendly that is dominated by youths.
He said, “we are looking up to you for this oness and prosperous assignment of national unity, stability and integration.”
He called on the youths and other stakeholders to join hand with the legislature in coming up “with laws that are friendly to the society, laws that are not inimical to our yearnings and aspirations, laws that are in tandem with our ethics, values and developmental trajectory.”
The Bureau Chief Voice of Nigeria North West Zonal office Kadan Nasisdi who expressed satisfaction with the visit assured the visiting House team of sustained relationship.
“We have been having cordial relationship with the Kano House of Assembly since the establishment of the Zonal office. I assure you that this cordial relationship will double.”
He informed them that, any event covered by Voice of Nigeria is broadcast in Eight languages among them three are International.
Nasisdi said VON is ready to promote Kano to the outside world.
