Kano Govt Postpones 2021 Budget Presentation
AREWA AGENDA – Kano State Government has postponed 2021 budget presentation initially scheduled for today, Monday in the state house of assembly.
Recall that last Wednesday, the state commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba had briefed newsmen in Kano that the 2021 budget christened: “Budget for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development” would be presented on Monday, 26 October.
However, a source told Solacebase that there was a communication gap between the executive and the legislature on the budget presentation today, as traditionally, the governor normally send a letter to the house ahead of time, which was not done.
Confirming the development to Solacebase on Monday, the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba said the advance copies of the budget would be taken to the assembly today, which initially ought to have been forwarded.
However, the assembly has approved tomorrow, Tuesday for Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to present 2021 budget before the house.
This followed a letter sent by the governor to the house today seeking its approval to present the 2021 budget tomorrow by 12:00 pm read by the Speaker, Abdulazeez Garba Gafasa.
