Kano Govt Commend Residents on Monthly Sanitation Excercise
AREWA AGENDA – The Kano State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, has expressed his appreciation to the entire citizen of kano on the cooperation and support they accorded to the Ministry during the monthly sanitation excercise.
Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso stated this ttoday during the monthly Sanitation Meeting of the Task Force committees at the Ministry’s Conference Hall.
He therefore called on the good people of Kano State to stay at home from 7:00 to 10:00 o’clock in the morning on Saturday to Sanitize their Environment.

The Commissioner also explained some of the activities and achievements so far recorded by the Ministry in terms of Decontamination and Fumigation of over 300 Public and private schools in respect of the students who are writing existing examination at various levels.
He added that, the Ministry is planting about 2 million trees in the State, that will help in reducing desertification, desert encroachment as well as tackling climate change challenges, and the excercise has
recorded alot of progress and would flag off before the end of this rainy season.
The Task Force committees expressed mixed feelings over the Non compliance by Pedestrian during the Sanitation hours, were people are roaming the streets instead of staying at home and cleaning their surroundings.
Therefore warned the general public to desist from violating the Sanitation law, as mobile courts are in stake to punish any erring individuals.
