Gov Yusuf, Deputy Present as Emir Sanusi Turbans Son Chiroman Kano
The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, attended the turbanning ceremony of DSP Aminu Lamido Sanusi as the new Chiroman Kano.
The event was presided over by the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, at the Kano Emir’s Palace on Friday.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the ceremony was described as a grand occasion attended by thousands of well-wishers from across the country and beyond.
Speaking at the event, the Emir of Kano praised DSP Aminu Lamido Sanusi for his exemplary character and unwavering commitment to duty, noting that these virtues made him a deserving recipient of one of the highest titles within the Kano royal family.

Born in 1991, DSP Aminu Lamido Sanusi is a distinguished public servant. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2016, serving in various roles before being posted to the Counter Terrorism Centre under the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2022.
He also holds a Master’s degree in Counter Terrorism Investigation from Al Akhawayn University in Morocco.
Governor Abba Yusuf congratulated the new Chiroman Kano on this prestigious recognition and expressed confidence in his continued contributions to the state and the nation at large.
