Kano Deputy Governor Not Under Probe – Anti-Corruption Commission

AREWA AGENDA – The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, PCACC, has said that it is not probing the deputy governor of the state, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna.

This was contained in a statement released Tuesday and signed by the Commission’s Chairman, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado.

According to the statement, “Investigation in the Ministry of Agriculture involve some staff of the Ministry and not the Deputy Governor as mischievously portrayed by a section of the media. The Commission invited the Permanent Secretary, Director Livestock and other staff of the Ministry where they made a usual contribution to the ongoing investigation. The alleged offence contradict Section 26 of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law 2008 (as amended) and a recovery of N 7,150,000.00 has so far being made.

“Therefore, any attempt to involve the Deputy Governor is sensational, false and misleading. For the clarity of doubt, the investigation was initiated with full consent, support and cooperation of His Excellency the Deputy Governor.

“Therefore the Commission urges the public to disregard any false information suggesting that the Deputy Governor is under investigation.”
