Kano Censorship Board Commences Screening of Praise Singers
AREWA AGENDA – Kano State censorship Board has began the screening of Islamic praise singers, better known as “Sha’irai” in Hausa.
Inaugurating the screening excercise, the executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Isma’ila Muhammad Naa’bba Affakallah Said the committee has been divided into two comprising male and female gender.
He explained that each committee would screen appropriate gender of the Islamic singers for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Alhaji Affakallah said membership of the committee was drawn from staff of the board and leadership of prominent Islamic praise singers in the State.

They include, Alhaji Sidi Abba, Mallam Bashir Dan Musa Mallam Bashir Dan Dago, Alhaji Jamilu Kofar Waika, Kabiru Dan Dogare among others.
Responding, the chairman of Islamic Praise Singers Association, Alhaji Sidi Abba and malam Bashir Dan Musa called on members of the Association to cooperate fully with the screening exercises.
Also speaking Chairperson of the female wing slamic prise singers Hajiya Hauwa Salisu Gaya said the screening would give an opportunity for the board to fish out bads eggs among its members.
The screening committee would be sitting on Monday’s, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between nine o’clock in the morning to three PM for three weeks.
