Kalthum Foundation Commits to Peace-building, Appeals for Ceasefire in N/East
The Kalthum Foundation for Peace (KFP) has reiterated its commitment to always support, promote and drive issues around peace building initiatives and conflict management in the North East.
These, Amb. Ummu Kalthum Muhammad, who is the Chairperson of the Foundation, said will be done through advocating equity and justice for the citizens and residents of the troubled region.
Amb. Kalthum Muhammad disclosed this in a statement titled, “Respect Ramadan: Stop Incessant Killings,” which she personally signed.
According to her, the holy month of Ramadan is a month of prayer, repentance and meditation for all Muslim faithful, across the world.

She noted that her native State of Borno, which is an integral part of the Kanem-Borno Empire is an Islamic domain.
Against this backdrop, the KFP Chairperson, appealed to members of Jama’atul Ahli Sunna lil Daawati wal Jihad otherwise called Boko Haram terrorists, as well as the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters, to sheathe their swords and halt their hostilities in this holy month.
“We are also appealing to the government, the Nigerian military and other security agencies to do same,” she said.
Amb. Muhammad, further called on the government and the insurgents, alike, to find other ways of resolving their ‘rift’.
She said: “Enough of these bloodletting. Our progress-minded Kalthum Foundation for Peace will always canvass peace building and conflict management, while demanding for equity and justice for all.”
