A traditional ruler, Falakin Shinkafi, Ambassador Yunusa Yusif Hamza expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Nigerian government is handling the issue of innocent armless people killed by the war plane of the Nigerian army a week ago.
Recall that, on 3rd of December, 2023, the Nigerian military war plane bombed innocent people while they were celebrating Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Tudun-Biri town, Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
“Since the incident happened, everything that the government has done is in the name of promises of which it may not necessarily be fulfilled. Had it been government is serious the military personnel behind the dastardly act would have been named, investigated and set for prosecution for now,”
He stressed that, “We strongly suspected that government will not be able to fulfill the mere promises made to the family of the innocent people killed during the bombings in Tudun-Biri town,”
By now, said Falakin Shinkafi, “An investigation committee has to be established or even that those involved in the matter shall have been arrested to take action, instead of the promises that are being made.”
On the issue of compensation, Ambassador Hamza stated that, at the moment, we should have heard that the Ministry of Defense of Nigeria or the Federal Government itself settled and released the money to pay compensation for the lives of those who were killed innocently”, according to Falakin Shinkafi
“We, as northern Muslims, will not be silent, until we see that justice is ensured against those recklessly killed, by punishing those involved in the matter and paying compensation for the lives of the people who were killed for no reason,” he concluded.
