JUST IN: Usman Ododo Takes Oath of Office as Kogi Governor

Former Auditor General for Local Government, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has been sworn-in as the governor of Kogi State.
Ododo emerged winner of the state’s governorship election on November 11, 2023.

With his swearing-in, Ododo becomes the 5th elected Governor of Kogi state, after Late Prince Abubakar Audu, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Captain Idris Ichalla Wada and Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
The event had in attendance the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Ododo’s predecessor, Yahaya Bello, and top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that on November 11, 2023, POLITICS DIGEST reported that Ododo emerged winner in the state’s governorship election, with the total votes of 446,237, while his closest challenger, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), polled the total votes of 259,052.
