‘Insecurity in our region Increasingly Alarming’- Northern Youth Group
A Northern youth-led organization under the guise of Arewa Youth Consultative Council, AYCC, has called on both Federal and State government in the region to bring an end to the wanton killings of innocent people in the region.
This was contained in a statement issued to news men by the National Director Graphics and Publication, Comrade Isah Ismaila, noting that, it condemns the continuous kidnapping, displacement and killings of innocent Nigerians especially Northerners”.
“People are stolen like chickens, slaughtered like Rams, displaced like flies and generally treated like commercial animals, even as the threat is increasingly alarming.”

A SAVE OUR SOUL (SOS) CALL TO THE PRESIDENT, STATE GOVERNORS AND ALL NIGERIANS- BANDITRY, KIDNAPPING AND KILLINGS INCREASINGLY ALARMING!
Your Excellencies, President Muhammadu Buhari and the 36 States Governors, accept our collective message of fear and helplessness. Be reminded that as law abiding citizens of Nigeria, all we can do is to continue to live in excess fear, silently cry, pay the ransoms of our kidnapped families, continue to attend burials of our loved ones killed by the perpetrators of the most organized crimes and when we try to condemn What’s happening to us as a people, either through demands, writings or protests, we are coerced, threatened or arrested by the same Law enforcement agents that supposed to protect us.
As a Civil Society Organization with strict concerns on issues affecting the North and Nigeria’s collective survival, we condemned the continuous kidnapping, displacement and killings of innocent Nigerians especially Northerners, people are stolen like chickens, slaughtered like Rams, displaced like flies and generally treated like commercial animals, even as the threat is becoming more deadly, claiming more lives than Covid-19, we don’t see any sign(s) of hopes or remedy to these killings; if at all we know the reasons for these deaths, the pain would have been bearable.

The menace was initially targeting the rich and the elite who are affluent with the economic capacity to pay ransoms, all of a sudden the poor and helpless villagers who have little means of livelihood are now the major victims, mostly end up being slaughtered because they can’t afford to feed themselves not to even talk of paying ransom. Majority of our citizens can’t afford aeroplanes or even the Modern trains, while the politicians and the powerful fly off to escape our deadly roads. Even the officers of the Nigerian police are kidnapped, APC and PDP Chieftains are killed, worshipers in the mosque are raided, yet citizens continue to be patient, thinking that the government will end the menace.
Your Excellencies, the Security Chiefs and State Governors may not be telling you the daily damages done by criminal elements, in Rivers, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa and especially in Zamfara-Katsina, Kaduna-Abuja, Niger, Maiduguri and almost all the high ways in northern part of the country. Recently one of our comrade was shot and killed and Kaduna, all we do was to bury him and mourn while the Killers may never be found. As concerned Nigerians, we are afraid to know that in all of Africa, Nigeria has the highest rate of kidnaps for ransom while Northern Nigeria remain the ‘Capital territory’ all both kidnappings and other kinds of killings.
We are wondering if Nigeria’s Security components knows what we pass through everyday or if the President read the local newspapers, m listen to radios or even have friends and relatives from the local communities that tell him what’s happening. Where’s the National Security adviser, Chief of Defense Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal, Inspector General of Police, Defence Intelligence Agency, National Security and Civil Defense Corp, State Security Service, National Intelligence Agency etc, the population of Northern Nigeria is about to Finish, the Economy of the region have collapsed already, when will you act to save us?.
While we are calling on the government to be decisive in dealing with the issues at hand by taking appropriate actions of serious concerns, we urge all Nigerian Citizens especially Northerners to embark on a Nation wide fasting and prayers, as our only reliable option. We should equally supply supportive information to our law enforcement agencies and ensure that actions are taken. All 19 states Coordinators and our Zonal Coordinators are hereby directed to prepare/champion the happenings of Special prayers (Alqunut and prayer gatherings) in all our communities from Wednesday, 25th November 2020. Meet all religious leaders, discus and strictly ensure to uphold this directives and pass it down to all villages. May God save us.
