How Retired Naval officer forcefully occupied private property, Threatens Breakdown of law and order in Abuja
A luxurious 7-bedroom duplex on Yobe Close, Maitama, Abuja, is embroiled in a disturbing dispute, as retired Naval Officer Rear Admiral B.T. Yusuf lays claim to the property through forceful and unlawful means.
This situation has raised concerns about a potential breakdown of law and order in the highbrow district of the Federal Capital Territory.
The property, as gathered by INCNews247, owned by one Alhaji Abubakar, was acquired through a legitimate transaction with the owner, after full payment of the agreed price, granting him undisputed possession for a considerable period.
However, tension escalated on Friday, 1st September, when Alhaji Abubakar’s workers were abruptly attacked by armed personnel who detained the workers and later threw them out of the property.

INCNews247 learnt that while they were working inside the property, Alhaji Abubakar’s representatives were sorrounded by armed personnel from the Nigerian Navy and Civil Defence Corps who then commandeered the premises, changed the locks and barricaded themselves inside property.
At the center of this dispute stands Rear Admiral B.T. Yusuf, a retired officer of the Nigerian Navy.
The retired senior military officer is asserting ownership of the property despite the absence of any evidence or documentation to substantiate his claims.
This case has raised concerns over a potential misuse of power and privilege, as it appears Rear Admiral Yusuf is leveraging his military connections to commandeer another person’s property.
In light of these troubling developments, Alhaji Abubakar has been left in shock and stranded while unable to recover his property from the retired Naval Officer. All effort by law enforcement officers of the Maitama Area Command to wade into and resolve the matter has been frustrated by Real Admiral B T Yusuf.
Meanwhile, the Rear Admiral’s armed personnel have continued their illegal occupation of the property, exacerbating what is rapidly becoming a high-profile case of alleged unlawful entry and forceful occupation of private property.
