Adam, featured on the 60th episode of Hasken Matasa titled: G-25 Kano 2023 Gubernatorial Candidates Interactive Season; Lessons Learnt and Next Step.

Ruqayya was impressed by the blueprints of all candidates and wished they could work together irrespective of who emerged victorious.

“All candidates had sweet plans for Kano State, it is my sincere hope that other candidates will support whomsoever comes out victorious with their own ideas, this I believe will help the state attain greater heights,” Ruqayya said.

As for Salisu, “I am excited by the event based on the fact that all aspirant poured their hearts out during the session, apart from being a step towards moving closer to real democracy, the interaction will serve as a scorecard used to measure the performance of winners or a piece of evidence used to hold them accountable.

“The next line of action is for candidates to sign a peace accord refraining parties and their supporters from blemishing the image of the eventual victor of the poll, this will bring sanity to the system,” Salisu advised.

As for Hajara, “Not all the manifesto they provided is realistic looking that the realities on ground but, I would hope the next governor look at his manifesto and work to the best of their ability and at the same time be vigilant of inevitable judgment by our creator.”

On his part, Dr Sufi saw the engagement as a fruitful one which indicated that the candidates have done their homework and hence, urged that more of such be held in the future.

“The engagement shows that the gubernatorial candidates have done their homework and are well informed of the condition of the state so, of the greatest lesson derived from this is that all hands must come together for the betterment of the state.

“I also feel joyous because the aspirants understand that the seat of power is not a do or die affair. Finally, I strongly recommend that more of these engagements be held in the future.” Dr Sufi enjoined.

The G-25 is a network of twenty-five civil society actors who partnered to publicly interrogate the manifesto of all the gubernatorial candidates of Kano state in order to empower citizens of the state with the right information to make an informed choice in the forthcoming elections.
