Hajj 2024: Kano Deputy Governor Calls for Improved Accommodation at Mina, Arafat
The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has made a passionate appeal during Post Arafat meeting organised by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in Makkah.
Gwarzo pleaded with authorities concerned to address the accommodation issues faced by pilgrims at Mina and Arafat.
As the State Amirul Hajj for this year’s Hajj exercise, Gwarzo expressed deep concern over the inadequate facilities, particularly for Kano pilgrims.
Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, The Head of Media Team for Kano State Pilgrims and also the Deputy Governor’s Spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement circulated to newsmen on Friday.

According to Ibrahim, during an inspection visit to the tents of all pilgrims from Kano State, Gwarzo observed that the situation was hectic, with insufficient restrooms to cater for the large number of pilgrims.
He stressed that while the situation at camps of other places can be described as inadequate, it is grossly inadequate for Kano pilgrims.
Gwarzo appealed to authorities to deploy necessary measures towards addressing the issue at Mina, citing the need for improved facilities to ensure a safer and more comfortable experience for all pilgrims.
He commended the Chairman, his team, and Nigeria for ensuring a smooth Hajj exercise, noting that the health facilities deployed at Mina and Arafat are spectacular and have gone a long way in preventing mortality rates.
