Jigawa state pilgrims welfare board has called on 2024 prospective intending pilgrims to make an initial deposit of 4.5 million naira, pending the announcement of Hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Dutse, the state capital.
He urged the state intending pilgrims to present themselves at the ongoing registration centres across the state because registration by proxy will not be allowed.
He said, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has allocated 1,518 Hajj seat to the state for 2024 Hajj exercise.
Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo called on the registration officers at zonal centres to give priority to new intending pilgrims in the state.

According to him, the Saudi authorities has come up with a new law which takes effect from this 2024 Hajj operation.
Labbo pointed out that, the Saudi authorities want everything about Hajj operation to be completed 50 days to Arafat.
He further explained that, the Saudi authorities also want to know the total number of pilgrims for the Hajj to enable them make all the necessary preparations for hitch free Hajj.
He said late payment by intending pilgrims often resulted in the delay in making the necessary arrangements for a hitch-free hajj exercise.
The Executive secretary appreciated the support and existing cordial working relationship between the management of the board and the coordinators, while praying for a sustainable partnership in the interest of all and development of the state.
