COVID-19: Emir of Gwandu Warns Clerics Against Misleading Adherents
AREWA AGENDA- Emir of Gwandu Mohammadu Iliyasu Bashar, on Wednesday, warned Islamic scholars against misleading religious adherents through preaching that could jeopardise measures put in place by government in the campaign against the spread of the COVID-19.
The emir gave the warning while briefing newsmen in his palace in Birnin Kebbi.

He urged members of the public to appreciate the government’s sincere intention on the closure of Islamiyya schools and ban on congregational prayers as against misleading sermons by those who misinterpreted the measures as aimed at stopping Muslims from practicing their religion.
He said the people should be resolute in prayers against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic by obeying God in all their dealings, noting that God is always merciful.
