GUEST COLUMN: What is More Important: Political Control Or Economic Control In A Nation?

By Abbati Bako,psc,bsis,UK,

AREWA AGENDA – Most of political stakeholders (those who say yes or no) in Nigeria are in the north and economic stakeholders in the south.

The political leaders are the moulders of policies in any Nations of the world. Poor people are far more in Northern Nigeria than in the South. Northern Nigeria is land locked area while the South has more contact with the outside world.

Had it been that the Northern stakeholders can twist the game to economic side of the issue; that would have been better for the north.

The North has more stake or say in politics and the south control the economy. And economy is more important considering the fact that the stakeholders in America endorsed Barack Obama to be president in 2008 than considered him a black man and son of a Muslim originated from Kenya.

Or the former American President Mr. Donald Trump who is all a long a business man (never hold any political position) since 1974 but he was supported to be president for their economic agenda.

Economic control is more important than political control. Economic Control is the live wire of human being. Economic Control is everything.

The North has about 75percent of the country’s population. So, it’s the population that makes Nation to be a big market in the world.
