UBEC Funding: Group Hails Gov. Abdulrahman for Examplary Educational Reforms

AREWA AGENDA – A leading Pro Democracy group in Kwara State, Kwara Must Change (KMC) has hailed Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his examplary educational reforms especially in securing the N7billion Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), grant.

The group observed that the feat has left no one in doubt about the vision and determination of the governor to take the state to greater heights.

In a statement by the Convener of Kwara Must Change, Abdulrazaq Hamzat, the group called on everyone to join hands in supporting the Governors visionary leadership that is devoid of propaganda and undue noise making, in order to move the State forward.

According to Hamzat, KMC had severally engaged the Government of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on the issue of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), sharing ideas and understanding Government efforts in that direction.

“Having been properly informed about the multi layer approach of Government to access the unaccessed funds due to the blacklisting of Kwara State during the previous administration, we are convinced that sooner or later, positive outcome will be recorded.” The group said.

It further stated that, “The positive outcome has now been achieved with the release of over N7billion to the state for educational development and this shows that we all need to follow Governor Abdulrahman’s lead in our quest for a better Kwara”, adding that just like the success recorded with UBEC funding, the governor has demonstrated sufficient will to achieve success in other sectors.

Hamzat therefore urged all Kwarans, including members of the opposition party to join hands with Government in the execution of lasting reforms in the education sector, noting that opposition should be about pushing Government to achieve more for general interest and not the opposite.
