Gov. Zulum Launches New Coporate Identity Internal Revenue Service
AREWA AGENDA – Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum mni fnse launches the new corporate identity for Borno State Internal Revenue Services to counter the lingering issue of low federal government allocations which is drawn by the low IGR generation in the state.
The BOiRS and other revenue generating MDAs under Zulum’s administration took the new phase to counter and catalyse the IGR generation in the state by rebranding and steering towards another wave to enable proper and sustainable IGR in the state.
The Commissioner for finance, budget and economy Hon. Adamu Lawan in his address stated that the IGR generation in the federation has been low due to the COVID-19 pandemic as such the allocations to states has dropped drastically to such the Borno State government unveiled a new face for the Internal Revenue Board to synergize and account properly for all IGR in the state .
Zulum in his address stated that the newly reformed Internal Revenue Service has the task and mandate for generation and accounting of revenue on both state and local government level as it is one of the objective of the 10 pact agenda of his administration to revive the economy of the state. And as it can be recalled some days back he signed into law the 2021 budget and the IGR would enable supplementing in the execution of the various developmental projects in the year 2021.
Also stating that the new step taken in the revenue generation has been put to work and he complements the effort of the new chairman of the board as with the result he has recieved so far he is convinced that revenue generation shall astronomically rise in 2021.
Finally he directed the provision of computers and other needed equipment for the easy digitalisation of the Revenue Board and Unveiled the new logo, vision and operation policies of the Board.
