Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on media aides appointed by his government to work hard in giving utmost publicity to policies and programs of the state government in order to keep people informed on the government business.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa in a statement on Monday said his principal made the call on Sunday at an interactive meeting with the media aides that cut across, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Personal Assistants on Media, Radio, information, Publicity, Public Affairs, Enlightenment, Digital Media, ICT, Social Mobilization, Videography, Photography, Senior Special Reporters and Special Reporters at Coronation hall, government house.
The Governor said his administration is coming up with a multitude of policies and programs that have a direct bearing on the lives of people of the state hence the need to keep them informed.

According to him, “You are appointed to contribute your quota in publicizing policies, and programs and create awareness for the populace on issues pertaining governance and other information helpful to the well-being of people of the state.”
Talking to Senior Special Reporters (SSRs)and Senior Reporters (SRs) posted to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), he said: “You are posted to MDAs as a backup their medium of Information by posting their activities on social media platforms for wider publicity.”
The Governor called on the media aides to come up with public enllghtmént initiatives, especially in the areas of dangers of drug abuse among youth, especially women, and the need to have a society free of social vices.
Earlier in a remark, the Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye said the interactive session which was the first of its kind was aimed at bringing the media aides together and brainstorming on ways to improve performance as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will run a transparent government with free flow of information as no any issue to hide.
Baba Dantiye pledged the Support of his ministry in making the undertakings of the appointees easy and affirmed that Information officers at local governments, and MDAs will do the same to achieve the desired goals set by the present administration.
