Rewofo Hosts Speak Change,Voice for Greener Tomorrow’, Spoken Word Contest in Kano State

Rescue the Women Foundation (Rewofo) on Friday organized a compelling spoken word contest titled “Speak Change: Voice For a Greener Tomorrow”
The event which was held at Tahir Guest Palace Hotel in Kano state gathered talented poets and writers who utilized their artistry to advocate for crucial societal issues including quality education, good health, drug addiction, and gender-based violence.
In a message delivered by the Executive Director of Rewofo, Salim Wada, he highlighted the transformative potential of spoken word as more than just a mode of entertainment but a potent tool for driving tangible change. Wada’s emphasis on the dual role of spoken word as both a form of artistic expression and a catalyst for social impact resonated strongly with the participants and attendees of the event.

The competition showcased a diverse range of voices and perspectives, with participants passionately articulating their advocacy for pressing issues affecting their communities and society at large. With creativity and eloquence, the poets and writers engaged the audience in thought-provoking performances that stirred emotions and inspired reflection on the urgent need for positive change.
