Foundation Grants 3.9 Million to 130 Women in Gwarzo
AREWA AGENDA – Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation has empowered 130 women in Sabon Layin Kara, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State with a grant of N30,000 each at the weekend.
The Technical Adviser of the Foundation, Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi said the allocation of the funds to women would make them more self-reliant, as well as improve their quality of life by reducing some of the problems that afflict them on a daily basis while reducing the level of dependency of women.
He also affirmed that the grant will serve as reconcilation method of marriage dispute and advised them to focus on the benefits and build the businesses in the area of their specialisation.
Alhaji Gambo Dan Zango, one of the community members of the Sabon Layin Kara, praised the Foundation’s work in urban and rural areas, noting that there are other projects that Prof. Abubakar Adamu Gwarzo have done to the community, improving their quality of life in terms of infrastructure, scholarship awards, free hospital treatment and so many humanitarian projects.

Similarly, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad added that this is not a new phenomenon in the area considering the good deeds done by the Abubakar Adamu Gwarzo Foundation in Gwarzo town and the state as a whole. He assured that, the women who received the grant will be followed-up on to ensure the money given to them has benefited them accordingly.
Mallama Abu Madu, 40, thanked the foundation and said the N30,000 grant from the Foundation would be used to invest in her candy making business.
Sahura Idi, 45, said the grant came at a time when she was looking for help to invest more and promised to work hard in making profit out of what she got.
Zahra’u Kabiru of 20 years, said the money would help her start a big business in the town and help her siblings in terms of engaging them to work hand in hand to depend on themselves.
The women’s activities in the town includes rice farming, millet, guinea corne, Beans cake and cocoa and more.
