Flood kills 2 in Zamfara
AREWA AGENDA – Flooding killed Two persons in the Fira-da-Kwaddi area in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara State
Radio Nigeria reporter who visited the scene reports that the incident occurred in a large waterway that crossed the area of Fira-da-Kwaddi which is under reconstruction, overflowed and shootout dominated all the intake of channels and houses nearby.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, 3 survivors revealed their ordeals, saying they were on a rescue mission to save the first 21 year old man and his 27 year old uncle entered the water to rescue his nephew but regrettably they all died while the 3 survivors were rescued as they were overpowered by the water tide.
“We attempted to rescue the two, but in the end, we fall victims and shouted for assistance which some experts in our area save our lives” one of the survivors narrated
He noted that the rescuers found the dead body of the 27 year old who was to rescue his nephew but the first victim’s dead body could not be found at the time of filing this report.
When contacted, the father of the later victim also grandfather to the first victim, Malam Adamu described the incident as unfortunate and prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
Searching for the other dead body is in progress.
