The Forum commends the Governor’s timely interventions, which prevented what could have escalated into a major ethnic conflict, particularly in the Sabon Gari area, which is home to diverse ethnic groups. We acknowledge the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and community cohesion, which has promoted peace and stability in the state.
We also extend our gratitude to CSP Ibrahim Dabo, the DPO of Nomansland Police Force, and his team for their gallantry and professionalism in protecting the Sabon Gari area. Their bravery and swift response prevented potential loss of lives and properties, and we applaud their dedication to duty.
However, we respectfully implore the Governor’s administration to ensure a thorough investigation into reports of alleged use of firearms by security forces and vandalization of properties during the protests. This will help to address any grievances, promote accountability, and rebuild trust among the affected communities.
