The annual zikr is a prayer session for the country which is usually conducted at every last week of the Islamic calendar.
The prayer session is to seek divine intervention for peace and prosperity for the country under the Supreme council of Tijjaniyya movement in Nigeria led by Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Sayyadi Ibrahim Dahiru Usman Bauchi is the representative of the leader of the Tijjaniyya movement in Nigeria.

It was gathered that in Kano, the Supreme leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, met the 13th Emir of Kano, late Alhaji Ado Bayero, advised and sought for his approval for the Friday dhikr to pray for peace and stability of the country every Muharram – first month in the Islamic calendar.
The deceased monarch had informed other Tijjaniyya clerics and since then, it has served as an annual reunion period to strengthen the unity of Muslims.
Since then, Muslims community across the world used to converge on Kano annually to observe Friday dhikr with the emir.
Personalities that graced the prayer session include those from Sokoto, Nguru in Yobe State, Bauchi, Zaria, Kebbi, Gombe among others.
