Climate Change: Emir of Kano Encourages Tree Planting Campaign
AREW AGENDA – The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has urged Nigerians to embrace tree planting to save the environments from the effect of the climate change.
Alhaji Aminu Ado described planting of trees as one of the best practices that would guarantee peaceful human and animal existence on earth.

He also said that trees planting campaign, would help in checking, erosion, desertification and other environmental disasters.
The Emir made the assertions when PANACEA charity foundation paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Wednesday.
The promoter of the Foundation, Dr Dahir Muhammad Hashim told the Emir that flag-off of the tree planting campaign held at Kurna Asabe, Gobarawa ward, Dala local government area, Kano State on August this year was a mission to plant over 10,000 trees.
Dr Dahir Muhammad Hashim said the tree-planting project which is in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and Kano State Ministry of Environment, is to mitigate climate change impact on the environment.
