Why EFCC Quizzed Kano Commissioner
AREWA AGENDA – The Kano State commissioner for local government, Murtala Sule Garo, was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to explain the source of the alleged multiple properties traced to him by the commission.
A source at the EFCC in Kano told Judicial Sketch the commission received petitions from a group alleging that the commissioner owns properties worth billions of naira in Kano and Abuja, saying there was an obligation on it to investigate the matter.

Spokesman of the commission, Dele Oyewale, had confirmed that the commissioner was only invited in relation to an ongoing investigation, which he declined to explain further.
The source revealed that EFCC was categorically told that the commissioner did not have any of the properties in question prior to his appointment as a commissioner in Kano State, explaining that such a situation such a situation calls for investigation.
Mr Garo is one of the key commissioners in the cabinet of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
He is expected to explain the source of his wealth in real estate, trucks, filling stations, among others.
