Dr Habib Sadauki Emerges as SOGON National President
AREWA AGENDA – The Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) has elected Dr Habib M. Sadauki as its national President.
Dr Habib Sadauki emerged as President at the 54th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Society Of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON) held in Lagos over the weekend.
Solacebase reports that the senior medical Consultant would pilot the affairs of the society for three years.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Habib Sadauki appreciated the confidence reposed in him to consolidate on the achievement of the outgoing executives to move the society forward.
He urged the federal government to implement the developed roadmap for accelerated reduction of Maternal Mortality in the country so as to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The newly sworn-in President said the enactment of a law for the Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR), which was initiated by the outgoing Executive Council in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and other stakeholders will be pursued to conclusion.
‘’The Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response is one main strategy of preventing maternal and perinatal death through critical analysis of causes of premature deaths to identify avoidable and remediable factors that will prevent future maternal deaths and improve maternal health,’’ said Dr Sadauki.
‘’This strategy engages stakeholders to address issues of quality and respectful care for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) services, key issues that deter women from accessing care on time leading to unnecessary morbidities and mortalities.’’
Solacebase reports that Dr Habib Sadauki , an indigene of Gwarzo local government area of Kano State, attended Barewa College and had his MBBS at Ahmadu Bello University both in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Gynaecology and Obstetrics expert was Executive Secretary, Kano State Hospital Management Board.
Dr Habib Sadauki and two other professional colleagues established the renown Premier Clinic in Kano.
