Deputy Speaker’s Wife Equips Maternity, Female Ward in Kurgwi PHC
Wife of the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Barrister Nafisa Kyari-Wase, has donated a well equipped Maternity/Female Ward for the Central Primary Health Center Kurgwi in Plateau State.
Barrister Nafisa who is married to Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, who is also the member representing Wase Federal Constituency, Plateau State at the National Assembly, handed the keys to the management of Quaan-Pan LGC, yesterday during a brief ceremony.
The Maternity/Female Ward was commissioned by the Special Guest of the occasion, who is the Provost College of Arts Science and Technology (CAST) Kurgwi, Mr. Birmiap Patrick Yilpoe, ably represented by the Librarian of the college, Mr. Phillip G. Dakogol.
Addressing the gathering at the event, the Executive Chairman Quaan-Pan LGC, Hon. Abdulmalik Yusuf Haruna represented by his deputy, Hon. Mrs. Victoria Dalap showered encomiums on Hajiya Nafisa Kyari-Wase, describing her as one among many compassionate and selfless personality.
Hon. Dalap stated that the facility will be used at it’s best, as health of the people of the locality has been a priority to the Council. She said, government is ready to key into such initiative with any individual or organization.
The Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Rita Buba, while receiving the keys from the National President Kurgwi Community Development Association (KCDA), Alhaji Ibrahim Turaki, who made the presentation on behalf of Hajiya Kyari-Wase, expressed gratitude and called on other individuals and organizations to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the donor.
There were good will messages by the leaders of the Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria and Women Wing of Jama’atu Nasri Islam.
