Dawisu’s Arrest Illegal, Says Kano Based Legal Practitioner
AREWA AGENDA – A Kano based lawyer, Barrister S. S Umar, has described the arrest of former aide to Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as illegal and an act for serving the interest of political elites in the state.
He observed that the statement which led to the arrest Salihu Tanko Yakasai’s arrest was not a new thing but one too many that had already been expressed by lots of prominent Nigerians.
“The arrest is illegal, lacks positive motive and has portrays the lack of direction of the DSS. It is highly unfortunate that we still have such problems in Nigeria.”

S. S Umar lamented that the act was an indication that Nigeria is fast moving into anarchy if a citizen cannot publically express his personal opinion.
Responding to the DSS statement that Tanko Yakasai is being investigated beyond his social media comment, the lawyer said that, “they should have let the public know the reason behind the arrest.”
He argued that, the DSS should by now bury their head in shame, for arresting a law abiding citizen, instead of focusing their attention on bandit and kidnappers that are killing innocent citizens almost every day.
