According to him “Social media is a new generational mechanism that penetrated all levels of the information society and has catalyzed the process of democratization and political development in Nigeria hence, should be adopted and domesticated by our teeming youth, utilize and surface sanity in our digital political spaces, while complementing the conventional politics in Nigeria with action”
“Despite the large proportion of young people in the Nigerian society, as well as the large users of the social media which constitute the youths, not much space is given to accommodate the youths in the political arena. He laments.
He added that “Rather, the youth are increasingly being used as instruments to support political players through political violence, thuggery and contribute in electoral malpractices.
He said “It is therefore very important we re-define the youth behavior and roles so as to initiate and contribute to positive change in the Nigerian society not only making comments and attacking political opponents but the dire need to participate in the political processes of the country”.
He further called on the digital activists to build an offline arm that is tied to issues and policy.
