CITAD Trains Young Ladies, In Jama’are,Other Communities
AREWA AGENDA – As part of its efforts to provide youths with sustainable skills, the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), has trained young ladies of Jama’are, Katagum and other communities of Bauchi state on Video Editing and Online Marketing.
This was disclosed by the center’s Accountant, Abubakar Yusuf Auyo when he appeared on a radio program ‘CITAD Da Al’umma’ in Jama’are Bauchi state.
Auyo explained that the center trained the ladies on video coverage and editing of wedding/naming ceremonies and other events so that they can be financially independent and role models to their families and communities.
Adding that “we didn’t limit the training to just editing for weddings or naming ceremonies, we trained them on how to create content for online marketing for advertisers using Youtube and other Social media platforms” Abubakar explained.
He further added that, the participants were also trained on Leadership skills which encompass: how they can get and sustain a relationship with a client, respect for established laws and orders, seek for appropriate doctrines guiding marketing on social media.

Stating that, “after the training, we did business name registration for the beneficiaries for ease of identification by government and access to business grant”
“We gave them soft loans without interest which was paid back after 3 months of kick-starting their businesses and we gave them the room to decide the amount they will be paying every month according to their capacities” Auyo said.
Abubakar stressed that the Kano beneficiaries have been fully established to an extent that they receive invitations to cover big events in the state.
“By extension, they have created their centers where they train youths on video editing and online marketing too” he added.
Abubakar Auyo noted that at the end of the training, beneficiaries of Jama’are, Katagum and other communities will receive the same gesture from the center as demonstrated for Kano beneficiaries.
Adding that “you know not every participant has the passion to pursue Video editing as a career. We will liaise with our focal person in Jama’are to select serious participants that will be registered and granted the soft loans.”
Abubakar Auyo however, called on youths to explore centers like CITAD so as to acquire knowledge and skills that would make them financially independent without waiting for white collar jobs from the government.
