CHR, SALCASUN Calls on Govt, Stakeholders to Support Cancer Victims

AREWA AGENDA – The Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) in partnership with Save A Life Cancer Awareness and Support Network (SALCASUN) has urged government, individual, philantropist, groups, organizations, cooperate bodies, CSOs, and development partners to play a vital role in supporting patient and survival victims of cancer.
This call was made to newsmen at inauguration of the Cancer Support Trust Fund in Kano State which aimed to provide sustainable financial needs to the victims more expecially the less privileged who are suffering from the disease.
The Program Manager at Community Health Research Initiative Malam Suleiman Umar Jalo said, “CHR has been supporting SALCASUN with the least of one million naira within last twelve months and also paid the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira to the Trust Fund as a sign of commitment in fulfilment of our support”
He added that, some of the key areas the organization focuses on is improved healthcare services for women and children through advocacy, accountability, mobilization, training, research and information.

The Founder Save A Life Cancer Awareness and Support Network (SALCASUN) Hajiya Hauwa Kagudi while addressing journalists noted that “Many people die or get infected by the disease (Cancer) annually, they faces alot of difficulties that may lead them to risk there life while struggling to have better health, but the bills and financial aid is the best way of helping them especially the less previllage ones, who lives in rural area that lack the knowledge and awareness of cancer disease”.
On her part, the Special Assistant to the Governor on NGO, Hajiya ‘Yar Dada Maikano Bichi, assured that Kano State Government vow to improve the health sector in the State and promised to provide all necessary needs for the cancer patients, survival victims and establishment of Hospital in the State.
She assured that her office will support CHR and SALCASUN to achieve their needs in supporting and saving lives of cancer patients in Kano state.
Board members of the Trustees by the duo organization are Dr. Musa Muhammad Bello, Mal. Salisu Muhammad Musa, Ms. Abigail A Ogah, Dr. Tijjani Magashi, Mal. Aisha Tafida and Dr. Nafisa Abdullahi.
Lastly, the group unveiled the account details of the Trust Fund for contribution to of individuals, government and non governmental organisations as follows.
