You Will Be Our campaign Director in 2027 For Failing To Tackle Hardship, Bauchi Gov. Knocks Tinubu
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has blasted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for failing to tackle hunger and economic hardship, saying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will invite him as campaign director in the 2027 general election.
Mohammed who was reacting to the president’s speech in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance protest spoke on Wednesday during the flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign for the LG election in Bauchi.
Tinubu had called for calm in a nationwide broadcast on Sunday, insisting there was no going back on his policies, especially the removal of fuel subsidy.
But reacting to the broadcast, Governor Mohammed said the President missed an opportunity to yield to what the protesters were agitating for.
He said the federal government should stop giving excuses to Nigerians and address their challenges.
“The protest has shown us so many things and lessons to be learnt but it appeared the APC leadership has learnt nothing,” the governor said.
“I listened to Mr. President’s speech with rapt attention and with all humility and courage that what he said was empty.
“He did not agree with the situation; he did not address the problems and challenges. The problems are not his alone but for all of us leaders, from the presidency to the sub-national down to the local government.
“We can see that the manifestations have different colourations. In the North, it is a very big wake-up call for us to bring good governance and respect for people.”

Mohammed expressed concern over the widespread hunger in the country, noting that the policies of the federal government are ineffective.
“There is anger and hunger; we have to address our problems of development,” he said.
“The new policy thrust of the federal government is not working. They have to understand that it is their problem and their programmes that have caused all these problems, so they have to change.
“I have heard and with regrettable attention that some of the ministers of the federal government are saying that we have been given 70 trucks and 500 and something million; how much did the federal government make, and what did they do with it?”
Mohammed, who doubles as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum further said; “I am urging President Tinubu to change this policy because it is not working and will affect everyone, regardless of political party.
“If he continues in this manner, in 2027, I will invite him to be our campaign director, as the PDP will dominate and we will win due to his self-inflicted injury.“
He added that “As the opposition, we recognise that it is time for governance. We have been patient to avoid overheating the political climate.
“However, the Federal Government is taking actions that provoke unrest. We humbly insist that this must stop.
“The PDP, along with its governor`s, has listened to the concerns of the youth and protesters, as have other governors.
“But the Federal Government continues to offer excuses. They need to stop this behaviour. We do not take the public’s trust for granted. We are stepping up, having already worked hard to provide good governanc
