Breakthrough Action Sensitizes Abuja IDPs on Birth Spacing

AREWA AGENDA – As part of commemorating the 2020 edition of the World Contraception Day, members of Breakthrough Action Nigeria (BAN), have visited and held an awareness programme on the importance of child birth spacing at the Wassa IDPs’ Camp, in Abuja.

The BAN members, sensitized women and their men at the camp on why they should embrace family planning, for many diverse health benefits.

Speakers and health officials, during the visit, observed that there have been significant advancements in access and technology that have expanded individuals’ ability to make decisions about their own sexual and reproductive health, in recent decades.

“It is critical that advocates, policymakers, and other stakeholders work to maintain these hard-fought gains and drive new ones,” they said.

A cross section of women and men, in an interview with Arewa Agenda, disclosed that they have been educated and greatly enlightened on the need to adopt family planning for their own maternal and child’s health.

Arewa Agenda is a Publication of young writers from Northern Nigeria towards Peaceful Coexistence and National Development through positive narratives.
