Borno Flood: Governor Namadi Donates N250 Million to Vctims
Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi has donated N250 million to victims of the devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno State.
During his sympathy visit, Governor Namadi described the floods as “unfortunate and sad” and prayed that such a disaster would not recur
The floods, caused by the breach of the Alu Dam, have displaced over one million people and significantly increased health risks such as cholera and other waterborne diseases.

Governor Namadi emphasized that the flooding in Northern Nigeria serves as a wake-up call for governors and the federal government to take strong measures to address the situation.
He shared his state’s experience with similar flooding disasters, where 17 local governments were affected, resulting in loss of lives and properties worth billions of naira.
The World Health Organization has deployed four mobile clinics to IDP camps and provided essential medicines and medical supplies to prevent outbreaks of waterborne diseases.
The organization is working closely with health authorities to strengthen disease surveillance and ensure prompt delivery of medical supplies
